Studies show that students think best and revise most mindfully when they're thinking and writing for their peers--people they consider a real audience. Discovering their public voice within the safe space of high school is key to students’ growth as digital citizens. As high school teachers in two different schools and fields, we will share our goals and methods for using blogging and websites in our AP Literature and Biology and Environmental Science classes. We will offer a hands-on exploration of the why, the what, and the how of using and assessing digital portfolios in the high school classroom.
